2D Frozen Meat Dicer — Dicing, Strip Cutting and Slicing
The QD-03 2D Frozen Meat Dicer is a commercial frozen and fresh meat processing machine capable of producing four cut formats — diced cubes, strips, shreds, and slices — from a single machine with adjustable blade spacing. The 2D designation refers to the two-axis blade arrangement: horizontal blades set product height, vertical blades set product width, and their combined action at every product pass produces a full cross-section cut. Adjusting blade spacing produces a different output format from the same mechanical action without additional tooling.
Two models cover the standard commercial dicing range: Model 350 (84×84×350 mm feed channel, 3 kW, 500–600 kg/h) for smaller facility and flexible production requirements, and Model 550 (120×120×550 mm feed channel, 3.7 kW, 700–900 kg/h) for higher throughput requirements and larger raw material input pieces.
Four Cut Formats from One Machine
The blade spacing and product advance parameters determine which of the four output formats the machine produces in a given run:
- Dice (cube): Equal horizontal and vertical blade spacing produces uniform cubes from 4 mm (small ingredient dice) through 120 mm (portion-cut chunks). 15 standard settings cover the full commercial range.
- Strip: Narrower blade spacing in one axis produces elongated strips. Available in 3×3 through 10×10 mm cross-sections with length determined by product advance parameters.
- Shred: Fine strip setting in both axes produces thin shredded product for salads, stir-fry preparations, and ingredient processing.
- Slice: Wide horizontal blade spacing with close vertical spacing produces flat sheet slices — the format used for sandwich meat, escalope pre-cutting, and marinated meat preparation.

Blade Specification and Cube Size Range
All cutting tools are manufactured from food-grade high-alloy steel. High-alloy blades maintain their cutting edge significantly longer than standard stainless steel blades when processing frozen meat, where blade contact forces are substantially higher than in fresh meat cutting. The 15 available cube size settings (4 mm through 120 mm) cover the complete commercial meat preparation spectrum: 4–8 mm for sausage filling ingredients and precise burger topping dice; 10–16 mm for retail diced meat and casserole applications; 20–40 mm for wholesale pre-portioning; 60–120 mm for catering and institutional portion-cutting where further cooking reduction is planned.
2D vs 3D Dicer: Choosing the Right Machine
The QD-03 2D dicer and the YGQD-350 3D dicer both process frozen meat into diced and strip-cut products, but through different cutting mechanisms with different optimal applications. The 2D system uses two blade planes to produce the cut cross-section in a single machine pass. The 3D system uses three blade planes, allowing it to handle larger raw material pieces (up to 120 mm at 8 mm cut size) and achieve a higher dicing yield (80–85% at 5 mm) through reduced compression at each blade plane.
Choose the 2D Dicer (QD-03) when: Versatility across a wide cube size range (4–120 mm) is the priority; multiple cut formats (cube, strip, shred, slice) are needed from a single machine; or cleaning and changeover simplicity matters more than maximum dicing yield.
Choose the 3D Dicer (YGQD-350) when: Maximum dicing yield at small cube sizes (5 mm) is the priority, or when raw material pieces exceed the 2D model’s feed channel dimensions.
Tentang Produsen
With more than 25 years of manufacturing experience, Shijiazhuang Sunshine Machinery builds meat processing equipment at a precision facility in Hebei Province. Our quality principles: international-grade components, CNC-machined critical parts, and mandatory 8-hour pre-shipment testing for every unit. CE compliance across the full product range. South American buyers are served from our Limeira, São Paulo office.

Every machine undergoes an 8-hour rated-load endurance run prior to shipment, verifying cutting performance, drive system, and safety functions. Customers may request test records and video documentation.
All machines carry a one-year whole-machine warranty from arrival, covering every mechanical and electronic sub-assembly. A spare consumables kit is included so your operators can handle routine maintenance immediately.
Pertanyaan yang Sering Diajukan
Can the QD-03 process fresh (non-frozen) meat in addition to frozen?
Yes. The QD-03 processes both frozen and fresh meat. Fresh meat can be processed at any temperature above freezing. For fresh products with a high fat content or very soft texture, lower feed speed may improve cut quality and reduce smearing at the blade face.
What is the minimum cube size achievable in practice?
The minimum cube size specification is 4 mm. In practice, 4 mm cubes at the rated throughput require the raw material to be at the correct temperature and the blades to be sharp. When blades wear, the minimum clean-cut size increases before the midpoint of the blade service interval. For consistent 4 mm cube production, plan blade sharpening intervals accordingly.
Can I switch between cube sizes without dismantling the machine?
Cube size changes require blade spacing adjustment, which involves a planned changeover procedure rather than a continuous parameter change. Changeover time depends on the extent of the blade spacing change. The English-language operation manual includes changeover procedures for each blade spacing configuration.
What raw material maximum size can the machine accept?
Model 350 accepts raw material pieces up to 84×84 mm cross-section and 350 mm length. Model 550 accepts pieces up to 120×120 mm cross-section and 550 mm length. Larger pieces — such as full frozen blocks — must be pre-cut using the QK-5T Frozen Meat Block Cutter before feeding into the dicer.
Are replacement blades available from stock, or do they need to be ordered?
Replacement blades and blade sets are available from our after-sales team. A starter set of replacement blades is included with every machine as part of the quick-wear spare parts kit. Contact our sales team to order replacement blades.

Application Range: From Fine Ingredient Dice to Portion-Cut Chunks
The 15-setting cube size range (4 mm through 120 mm) on the QD-03 covers the full spectrum of commercial meat preparation needs without requiring separate machines for different size ranges. A facility that dices beef for sausage filling ingredient preparation in the morning (8 mm cubes) and cuts the same material into 40 mm chunks for barbecue retail packs in the afternoon can do both on the same machine with a planned blade spacing changeover between runs.
At the fine end of the range, 4–8 mm cubes are used for sausage filling ingredients where visible meat pieces in the finished product are a quality signal; for burger topping preparation where uniform small dice ensures consistent coverage; and for marinated product preparation where surface area-to-volume ratio affects marinade uptake rate. At the large end, 60–120 mm sizes serve catering pre-portioning, stew and casserole preparation at food service scale, and industrial ingredient preparation where further cooking reduction is planned.
