Frozen Meat Block Cutting Machine — Pre-Processing for Grinders and Dicers
The QK-5T Frozen Meat Block Cutting Machine is the pre-processing station that makes downstream grinding and dicing operations efficient. Frozen raw material arrives from cold storage in standard commercial block format (typically 600×400×150 mm) and cannot be fed directly into a meat grinder or dicer because block dimensions exceed the feed channel capacities of those machines. The QK-5T reduces full-size frozen blocks to grinder- or dicer-compatible piece sizes at 3,000 kg/h and -4°C to -18°C, without any thawing step, within one minute per 25 kg block.
In processing facilities without a dedicated block cutter, frozen block pre-processing typically relies on band saws, manual hammering, or partial thawing followed by manual breaking. Band saws introduce metal contamination risk from blade residue; manual hammering is slow and inconsistent; partial thawing initiates protein hydrolysis and bacterial growth before the material reaches the grinder. The QK-5T eliminates all three approaches, replacing them with a clean, automated, high-throughput cutting step that maintains the material at temperature throughout.
Integrated Welded Frame and Separated Slideway Design
The QK-5T uses an integrated welded frame construction that provides structural stability, vibration resistance, and low-noise operation under the high-load cutting strokes that frozen block processing requires. Welded frame construction eliminates the flex and mechanical fatigue that bolted-assembly frames develop over time under repeated high-load impact, maintaining blade alignment accuracy across the machine’s service life.
The separated slideway design physically separates the raw material staging platform from the cutting and ejection zone. Uncut blocks are staged on the raw material platform; the cutting stroke is isolated from this platform; and cut pieces exit through a separate discharge path. This separation prevents back-splatter of ice particles, fat fragments, and meat residue from the cutting zone contaminating the uncut material waiting on the staging platform — a cross-contamination risk in standard welded-body block cutters where the staging and cutting zones are immediately adjacent.
Integration with Downstream Processing Equipment
The QK-5T is the entry point in a three-stage frozen meat processing chain that covers the complete journey from raw block to finished mince or dice:
- QK-5T (Block Cutter): Reduces 600×400×150 mm frozen blocks to grinder/dicer feed-compatible piece sizes at 3,000 kg/h.
- JR-D Series (Meat Grinder): Grinds cut pieces to mince for sausage filling, patties, and emulsification applications.
- QD-03 or YGQD-350 (Meat Dicer): Dices cut pieces to cube, strip, or sheet formats for retail, catering, or ingredient preparation applications.
Compatibility with standard meat trolleys allows cut pieces to fall directly into the trolley beneath the discharge zone without manual handling, further reducing secondary contamination risk and the labour requirement at the cutting station. The machine requires no special floor modification and its 1320×800 mm footprint fits standard cold-room and processing-area layouts.

What is the output piece size after cutting, and can it be adjusted?
The output piece size is determined by the blade frame pin dimension (200 mm on the QK-5T) and the feed channel width (460 mm). Cut piece dimensions are not continuously adjustable in the same way as a dicer — the machine is designed to reduce full blocks to feed-compatible sizes for the downstream grinder or dicer. If your downstream equipment requires a specific maximum input piece size, confirm this when enquiring.
Can the QK-5T cut bone-in frozen meat?
The QK-5T is rated for boneless frozen meat blocks at -4°C to -18°C. Bone-in cutting at these temperatures requires a higher-capacity block cutter with specifically rated blades. If your raw material includes bone-in cuts, specify this when enquiring for configuration advice.
How does the machine prevent blade breakage when encountering very hard frozen material?
The integrated welded frame maintains blade alignment and structural rigidity under impact loads. The alloy steel blades are rated for the cutting forces required at -18°C frozen material. Material below -18°C increases the brittleness of both the meat and potentially the blades; operating within the -4°C to -18°C specification range is important for blade service life.
Is this machine used only for meat, or can it cut other frozen food blocks?
The QK-5T is designed and rated for frozen meat blocks. Other frozen food materials (fish blocks, poultry, processed meat products) within the temperature range and block dimensions can be processed. Confirm your specific material and required output size when enquiring.
What is the minimum temperature the machine can safely process?
The rated input temperature range is -4°C to -18°C. Material below -18°C increases cutting forces beyond the machine’s rated design parameters and may shorten blade service life. If your raw material storage temperature is below -18°C, allow the material to warm to within the rated range before cutting.

Band saws are commonly used for frozen block pre-processing in facilities that have not invested in a dedicated block cutter. The QK-5T delivers measurable advantages over band saw pre-processing in three areas. First, hygiene: band saw blades generate metal residue at the cut face that presents a food safety contamination risk; the QK-5T’s alloy steel blade operates at speeds and through a mechanism that does not generate metal particulate at the cut face. Second, throughput: a band saw operated by a skilled operator processes approximately 300–500 kg/h of frozen blocks; the QK-5T processes 3,000 kg/h unattended. Third, consistency: band saw cut dimensions vary by operator skill and fatigue; the QK-5T produces consistent piece sizes within the blade frame dimension on every stroke.
